Jason, a native of Archbold Ohio, holds a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University in Sports Management, where he also played basketball, and a Master’s degree from Bowling Green State University in Sports and Leisure Studies. In 2008 he found his passion for sales while being an Inside Sales Representative with the Florida Marlins and later an Account Executive with the Miami Heat. A relocation to the north landed him with the Detroit Red Wings and more responsibilities as an Account Sales & Services Executive handling accounts such as AOL and Quicken Loans. After one more move back to Florida, this time the Panhandle in Destin, Jason’s love of sports propelled him into the golf world where he worked in various golf shop and golf course positions. His most recent move to the Greater Cincinnati area, to facilitate his wife’s job at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, sent him searching for another position that would combine his love of golf along with his sales expertise. Luckily for us he noticed our job posting while working as the Clubhouse Manager at Greentree Golf Club, and became the newest member of our management team in December of 2015.
Jason currently resides in Miamisburg with his wife Amanda and their two children – Xander, age 4 and Sullivan, age 2. He enjoys spending time at his family’s Indiana lake house with his family and two dogs, playing sports of any kind, especially golf, and supporting his favorite sports franchises.

Steve Nelson has been with Wetherington for 15 years.
Steve is a Cincinnati native, now residing in West Chester with his wife Lisa of 19 years and his 2 daughters, Ashley age 14 and Hannah age 12.
Steve has been a P.G.A. Member for 18 years and is a past President of the Cincinnati P.G.A. He has 2 Greater Cincinnati P.G.A. Championships to his credit and in 2000 was Player of the Year and Scoring Average Award Winner.
Steve is a very enthusiastic instructor and enjoys working with students of all levels. Steve and his staff are here to promote the game and make playing golf as fun as possible for everyone.
Tim Kelley has been a member of the Wetherington team since the spring of 1992. Upon graduation from Ohio State University, with a Bachelors Degree in Agronomy, Tim was hired as the Golf Course Superintendent. He was responsible for the grow in phase of course development and has continued to help the course evolve into the prestigious facility it is today.
Tim's previous experience and opportunities have given him the knowledge necessary to make Wetherington one of the top courses in the Cincinnati area. He has had the privelege of working at two top ten courses in the country. While attending college, Tim had the chance to gain valuable knowledge while working at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Also, in 1990, he completed an internship at Medinah Country Club located near Chicago, Illinois. This opportunity afforded him the chance to work during the 1990 U.S. Open helping with course set up and overall course conditioning. In 1996, Tim was honored with the Ohio State Young Alumni of the Year Award from the College of Agriculture for his help with educating at-risk students on golf course operations and employability skills.
Tim currently resides in Liberty Township with his wife and family.
Food & Beverage Director
Gerry, originally from Kalamazoo Michigan has been in the F&B industry for over 30 years with experience at a wide variety of venues including ownership of a full service, high volume restaurant in Wilmington North Carolina. Gerry lives just around the corner in Liberty Township and is married with two highly active boys ages 4 and 2.5. He is passionate about pleasing people and just as passionate about wine as he recently passed his Level 1 Sommelier exam. A proud graduate of the University of South Carolina Columbia with a degree in European History and possesses an intellectual history of food and cuisine. His first day was Wednesday, July 6th 2016.
Khalid Mafazy came to Wetherington from Kanawha Country Club in Charleston, West Virginia where he was the Executive Chef . During his career in WV he was recognized as Chef of the Year. He received his training in Kenya and owned a popular restaurant in the coastal town of Lamu in East Africa. He received his Executive Chef certification from the American Culinary Federation after arriving in the USA in 1990.
Khalid and his wife Terri just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They are the proud parents of Luke and Raya, both students at the University of Cincinnati.
Banquet Sales & Event Coordinator
Ashley Lueth formally Ashley Greene has been with us since 2013. She is originally from a small town in northwestern Ohio. After graduation, she moved south and studied Hospitality Management at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort. In 2007, Ashley took a position as the Event Coordinator for the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Dayton. A few years later, she decided to move back south to accept a position as the Event Manager for the Greenville Drive- a Minor League Baseball Team, affiliate of the Boston Red Sox's. She handled all special events in the stadium, including - fundraisers, private team events, 5K runs, launch parties and many other large events. In 2010, Ashley decided to move back to Ohio and returned to the Funny Bone Comedy Club and was promoted as the Event Coordinator for both Dayton & Cincinnati Clubs.
Ashley currently resides in West Chester with her husband Adam and their 12 year old Yorkie, Oliver Greene!
Tim Whelan joined Wetherington Golf & Country Club as our Controller in 2008. He originally is from Ft. Thomas, Kentucky and attended St. Xavier High School and Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated with a BSBA in Accounting in 1986. Tim was also a member of the Xavier University Baseball Team. After graduation, he worked for in public accounting for Bressler & Company in Covington, Ky.
Tim also has over 25 years experience in the food and beverage/hospitality industry. From 1989-1990, he was Assistant Controller for the Comisar Maisonette Restaurant Group. From 1991-2003, he was Controller for the Company. In 2004, Tim was Practice Manager for Guenthner Physical Therapy before moving to Western Hills Country Club as Controller in 2005.
Tim currently resides in Milford. Tim has two daughters and one son. Tim has been an active member of St. Martin Parish and served on the Finance Committee for the Parish for 6 years. He also served on the Tax Board of Review for the City of Cheviot for many years.
